Steven McCarthy (along with Cristina de Almeida) was asked to guest-design the fourth issue of THIS, a Cincinnati-based literary and arts journal. The previous 3 issues, while all wonderfully designed by Jackie Meyer and Julie Allen, used an exuberant graphic vocabulary; so issue 4 took a cleaner, more sober, conceptual approach – while still maintining the publication’s spirit.
